The primary official path for Lafayette Parish jail mugshots is the LPSO 365Labs Community Portal, reached from the sheriff's Offender Information page. Research notes captured a Picture field and mugshot or picture container in portal data, so a booking image may appear on public roster entries when available. LPSO also states that the portal shows currently housed LPCC inmates and recent bookings.
Do not treat every roster result as a guaranteed mugshot record. LPSO noted during the JADES-to-365Labs transition that some demographic fields were missing and would be added later. The research did not prove that every daily arrest entry includes a photo. The better reading is that booking photos are portal-dependent and record-dependent.
Find Lafayette Booking Photos
Start with the official roster, then move to fallback channels. LPSO says users can search by first name, last name, or booking number. If the portal asks for an agency, choose LPSO. If no person appears, try current/all inmates, recent bookings, and recent releases. A person may have been released, transferred, booked under a name variation, or held under another agency's authority.

The LPSO Daily Arrest Report is useful for recent arrest facts, including charge, agency, cause, property, associates, and incident number. The captured text did not show that every daily arrest report entry includes a mugshot, so it should not be described as a guaranteed mugshot gallery.
The daily report can still help identify the correct arrest date, agency, and incident number before a records request.
Lafayette Booking Photo Fields
A booking photo, when displayed, appears with other jail record fields. Those fields help confirm whether the photo matches the right person and booking. Because LPSO identified some transitional missing demographics, a blank demographic field should not be read as proof that the record is wrong or incomplete in every other respect.

Lafayette Mugshot Public Records
Louisiana public-record law supports public access to records maintained by public bodies, but LPSO also states that many criminal records are privileged until adjudicated or settled. Investigative records, victim-identifying information, juvenile information, confidential sources, and security procedures may be withheld. A booking photo request should be made through official LPSO channels and may depend on case status and statutory exceptions.

What Is Public or Withheld

Mugshot Removal After Arrest
Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure art. 234 focuses on publish-for-pay publications or websites that publish booking photographs or criminal record information and solicit payment for removal or correction. It requires removal within seven calendar days when the person submits proof of a qualifying disposition, such as acquittal, no prosecution, expungement, vacated conviction, or pardon. The statute prohibits a fee for removal.

Commercial mugshot-publishing or pay-to-remove sites are not official Lafayette Parish records sources. They can be stale, incomplete, or disconnected from court outcomes. Federal and State Mugshots
Federal custody and immigration custody are separate from LPCC. The BOP inmate locator shows identity and location fields for federal inmates from 1982 to present, but it is not a public federal mugshot gallery. ICE ODLS is a detainee locator, not a Lafayette Parish booking-photo source. U.S. Marshals custody during federal pretrial or transport phases has no public prisoner locator identified in the research.
Louisiana DPS&C/LAVNS can help locate sentenced state prisoners or people under community supervision.
